On April, 19^th, Kasa Fab hosted the American Welding Society meeting. Approximately 40 people from across Kansas and two Kasa Anlagen engineers from India attended the tours and meeting. 

Manufacturers are unlocking the data from the plant floor and getting it to supervisors and upper level systems to assist in the decision-making process. Kasa, using an industrial application server with unlimited and web-based clients and unlimited tags, has created a variety of systems that cover the full spectrum between HMI, SCADA and MES.

Kasa Companies, Inc. announced on Monday, September 27, the Kansas Department of Commerce has awarded Kasa up to $400,000 for expanding and training. We expect to bring up to 20 new engineering jobs to Salina over the next five years.

IntelliFinishing, a Kasa Companies' entity that focuses on providing turnkey finishing systems to manufacturers launched in November 2010 and is one of the reasons for the expansion. Offering a unique conveyance and control system has changed the world of finishing for manufacturers. Caterpillar, along with IntelliFinishing and its partners, developed the technology as a result of their internal needs to have a finishing system that fit in with the concepts of lean manufacturing process and was more economical to operate. Congratulations to Jim Herbic on his retirement on September 22, 2011.

Jim has been with Kasa for 35 years and remembers when he started, there were only
8 people working at Kasa.

Jim and his wife, Lynn, are looking forward to his retirement. Jim is hoping to catch up
on some fishing and traveling to visit family.

The Safety Award of Merit is awarded to companies posting an injury and illness incidence rate for the reporting period that is better than the published Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) rate by 10 percent or greater, based on their North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code.
